Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for Rubbish Removal Earls Court

Rubbish Removal Earls Court is committed to conducting all aspects of our waste collection and disposal services in a lawful, ethical, and socially responsible manner. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery within our own operations and our wider supply chain.

Modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We recognise that the waste management and logistics sectors can be exposed to such risks, particularly through outsourced labour, subcontracting, and complex material supply chains. We are determined to play our part in eradicating these practices.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

Rubbish Removal Earls Court maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance stance towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all people who work for or on behalf of our business, irrespective of their role, seniority, or contractual status.

No employee, agency worker, contractor, subcontractor, or supplier may engage in, support, or benefit from any practice that constitutes modern slavery. We will not knowingly enter into or maintain a relationship with any party involved in such practices. Any breach of this policy by our staff is treated as a serious disciplinary matter that may lead to dismissal. Where external parties are involved, we reserve the right to terminate contracts and report concerns to the relevant authorities.

Our Supply Chain and Supplier Audits

Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, uniforms, waste disposal facilities, and labour support services. We recognise that modern slavery risks can occur at any stage and are committed to working only with organisations that share our ethical standards.

To support this commitment, we assess and monitor our suppliers through a risk-based approach. Higher-risk suppliers, such as those providing labour or operating in sectors or regions with known vulnerabilities, are subject to enhanced due diligence. This may include requesting evidence of their own modern slavery policies, codes of conduct, and training, as well as details of their recruitment and wage practices.

We conduct periodic audits or reviews of selected suppliers. These audits may take the form of questionnaires, document checks, or on-site visits, depending on the level of risk identified. Where we identify gaps or areas for improvement, we engage with suppliers to develop corrective action plans and monitor their implementation. Failure to address serious concerns may result in the suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage all employees, agency workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery connected to our operations or supply chain. No individual should feel that raising a concern will negatively affect their position or future employment prospects.

Concerns can be reported directly to line managers, senior management, or through our internal whistleblowing channels. Reports can be made confidentially, and where legally permissible, anonymously. We treat all reports seriously, investigate them promptly, and, where appropriate, involve external authorities or specialist organisations. Retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited and itself constitutes misconduct.

Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement

Rubbish Removal Earls Court provides training and guidance to relevant staff so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery and understand how to escalate concerns. We aim to build awareness across our business about the conditions that allow exploitation to occur and the important role our people play in identifying risks.

We are committed to continually improving our processes and controls. As industry practices, regulations, and guidance evolve, we review and update our approach to ensure it remains effective and proportionate to the risks we face.

Annual Review of this Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least once every year by the senior management of Rubbish Removal Earls Court. The annual review considers any incidents reported, audit findings, supplier performance, and changes in legislation or best practice.

Following each review, we may update our policies, procedures, training programmes, and supplier requirements to strengthen our response to modern slavery risks. The updated statement is then approved at a senior level and made available to our employees, suppliers, and customers to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to ethical and responsible business conduct.
